Steering Box

• The steering box in a Jeep is located behind the radiator on top of the frame inside the engine compartment.
• The steering box is an important component of the steering system in a Jeep. It is responsible for converting the rotational motion of the steering wheel into the linear motion required to turn the wheels.
• The steering box is connected to the steering column and the pitman arm, which is connected to the steering linkage.
• When you turn the steering wheel, it rotates the input shaft on the steering box. This movement is then transferred to the output shaft, which is connected to the pitman arm. The pitman arm then moves the steering linkage which turns the wheels
