Piston Ring
- The piston ring position is important for proper sealing, lubrication and performance of the engine. There are two aspects of the piston ring position: the side facing the top of the piston and the gap alignment.
- To provide a pressure seal to prevent blow-by of burnt gases.
- To improve heat transfer from the piston to the cylinder wall.
- Material: The piston and the ring are usually made of cast iron or steel, which have good thermal conductivity, strength, durability and resistance to wear and corrosion
