Connecting rod

  • The purpose of the connecting rod is to convert the linear motion of the piston into the rotary motion of the crankshaft
  • The small end of the connecting rod is connected to the piston pin while the big end is connected to the crank pin
  • The connecting rod is a part of a piston engine which connects the piston to the crankshaft. Together with the crank, the connecting rod converts the reciprocating motion of the piston into the rotation of
    the crankshaft.
